The details

How much time do students need to commit?

30 hours per course over a four month period.

Do students need to be available at a certain day or time?

Most coursework is asynchronous and can be completed according to the students’ schedule. Students will also be required to “meet” with their teacher  via Zoom.  These sessions will occur a minimum of 2x and up to 6x per semester and will be scheduled directly between student and instructor.

Do the courses meet our school's standards?
Lookstein Virtual courses are created by a team of expert educators, instructional and multimedia designers, advisers, and specialists using Backward Design (UbD).  Students and administrators are regularly surveyed and courses evaluated and updated to retain high standards in Jewish Studies.

Our courses are accepted by over 100 Jewish day schools and are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Upon course completion, students can request a transcript from Lookstein Virtual Jewish Academy, a project of the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education of Bar-Ilan University. We do not currently provide college credit.

If you have any additional questions about our courses or process, please email admissions@lookstein.org
